I wish I was a ballot box

I’d take the issues based vote, the ethnic vote, the spoilt vote

And make them all count

I wish I was a ballot box

I’d take the winning vote, the losing vote and Tharaka Nithi vote

And make them all count

I wish I was a ballot box

I’d take the protest vote, the sympathy vote, the wise vote

And make them all count

I wish I was a ballot box

With a transparent lid

And several vying positions

And make them all count…and win!

But, alas, being a ballot box is the easier softer option.

It doesn’t count.
